Friends - Really????????????

Who is a friend? the one who keeps you away from doing worng or encourages you to do so or the one who does what you ask him to do.....a friend lost her job...she wants to get drunk thinking that will reduce her pain.... as a friend what should you do....help her get drunk or try to be there with her and help her face the situation bravely and make her understand that this is not the end of the world?? If you help he get drunk coz she wanted to....are you being 'good'? are you being a 'friend'? are you being a 'human'?
I am not exaggerating but I really feel we rather have no friend than have a friend like that.... who sees we are totally wasted and still offers us a drink, pays for our drinks and then the same friend drops us home.... its ridiculous....
is he really a friend?
okay may be there is nothing wrong in having a drink or two for fun....but to get drunk thinking that it'll help us reduce our pain just doesnt make sense to me...its foolery and an act of cowardness...more so when you know you are alone and need to drive back home...
may be I am way too traditional in my thinking but I am ready to correct myself if you think I am wrong! Give me an explanation...or else its hard for me to respect such a person!

You can reach anywhere with a GOAL!

An inspiring thought that I would like to share with you all...

A life without purpose is like a ship without a rudder.
Goals are dreams that are written down.
The purpose of a goal is to focus your attention.
Your mind will reach toward achievement only when it has a goal.
There is no achievement without goals.

Establish a goal worth working for.
Your goal will keep you going in tough times.

Always have something ahead of you.
Continuously visualize your next step.
Keep moving after you achieve your goal and set another.
Momentum is maintained by always having something to look forward to.
Constantly give yourself something to work for.

Do what you can do well,
and do well whatever you can do
and you'll achieve any goal that you set for yourself.

You can plant your dream with a goal.

God's Hands!

An old lady who lived in the village who had never been in a car before was returning home from the market carrying a big heavy basket on her head, when a rich man riding his car passed by. Kindly, he offered to drive her to her home. She thanked him & got into the car with her basket.

On the way, the man glanced at the lady in the mirror, still holding her basket over her head. Astonished, he asked her to lay the basket down in the car & rest.
The old lady replied, "Oh, my son, your car is carrying me; this is enough,
I should not burden it carrying my basket too!" What an innocently funny response!

We sometimes do the same with God.
Everyday, God carries us during day and night still, we insist on carrying our heavy baskets of worries & fear of the future. We are carried by Almighty hands, watched over by sleepless eyes & God plans our future. Let us then relax & lay down everything in God's hands.

Interesting Story!

A man was walking down the beach at sunset. As, he walked along, he saw another man in the distance. He noticed this man kept leaning down, picking up something and throwing it out into the water, again and again. As, he approached even closer, he noticed that the man was picking up starfish that had been washed up on the beach. He was throwing them back into the water, one by one.

Puzzled, he approached the man and said,
"Good Evening. I was wondering what you are doing."I'm throwing these starfish back into the ocean. You see, its low tide and all these starfish have been washed up onto the shore. If, I don't throw them back into the ocean, they'll die up here from lack of oxygen."

"But, there must be thousands of starfish on this beach. You can't possible get to all of them. And, don't you realize this is probably happening on hundreds of beaches all up and down this coast. Can't you see that you can't possibly make a difference?

The man bent down and picked up yet another starfish, and threw it back into the ocean.
With a smile he replied, "Made a difference to that one!!

Did you try enough to make a difference today??

You did!

There have been situations in your life that you thought you would never get through. And yet, you did.

There have been challenges you faced that you thought you would never overcome. And yet, you did.

There have been losses you've suffered that you thought you would never be able to get beyond. And yet, you did.

For you are here today, stronger, wiser, more experienced and more knowledgeable as a result of it all. Though the road has had its rough spots, you've successfully made your way along it.

There will certainly be more rough spots ahead, and there may even be some particularly difficult ones right now. So it pays, every now and then, to look back and remember that even though you thought you wouldn't get through, you did.

And perhaps, if you think about it, you'll see that there's really never any reason to doubt yourself. For when life challenged you to make your way through, you did.

And now, even more importantly, you will.
