Zara Sochiye!

Kisi ke kaam jo aaye
use insaan kehte hain
paraya dard apnaye
use insaan kehte hain

agar galti rulati hai
to raahen bhi dikha ti hai
manuj galti ka putla hai
jo aksar ho hi jaati hai
par jo karle theek galti ko
use insaan kehte hain

yun bharne ko to duniya mein
pashu bhi pet bharte hain
bas ek jo baant ke khaye
use insaan kehte hain

yeh duniya ek manzar hai
kahin dhokha kahin thokar
koi has has ke jeeta hai
koi jeeta hai ro ro kar
jo gir ke fir sambhal jaaye
use insaan kehte hain

kisi ke kaam jo aaye
use insaan kehte hain

Love

When love glows, it is Bliss
When love flows, it is Compassion
When love blows, it is Anger
When love ferments, it is Jealousy
When love is all no's, it is Hatred
When love acts, it is Perfection
When love knows, it is "ME"

Food for thought

I stopped believing in Santa Claus when my mother took me to see him in a department store, and he asked for my autograph. -- Shirley Temple

Breaking the ice

19th july 2007.....wow....finally the day came when I decided to take out time for myself and finally create a blog. As a child I always was made to believe that penning our thoughts down on a piece of paper will help us become more detailed, articulate and will help us grow in life. I remember making a diary then, writing every night before going to bed what I did the whole day. New people, new experiences everything.......As and when I grew somehow lost link. Started believing that there is something that cannot be written or shared but only felt. I was so wrong.....So many years have now passed by and I have met so many new people, had so many amazinggggggg as well as bad experiences that have helped me grow in life....But coz I left writing it all down.....the power of sharing and now reliving those experiences has lowered down....but I am bucking up... :D
Hope to write regularly now.....without feeling insecured. All charged.... :D

Thought of the day

Love is not a state of mind, it is a supreme state of existence.

Belief - the most valuable possession

I believe in you, and I believe in your destiny.
I believe that you are contributors to this new civilization.
I believe that you have inherited from your forefathers an ancient dream, a song, a prophecy, which you can proudly lay as a gift of gratitude upon the lap of America.
I believe that you can say to the founders of this great nation, "Here I am, a youth, a young tree whose roots were plucked from the hills of Lebanon, yet I am deeply rooted here, and I would be fruitful."
And I believe that you can say to Abraham Lincoln, the blessed, "Jesus of Nazareth touched your lips when you spoke, and guided your hand when you wrote; and I shall uphold all that you have said and all that you have written."
I believe that you can say to Emerson and Whitman and James, "In my veins runs the blood of the poets and wise men of old, and it is my desire to come to you and receive, but I shall not come with empty hands."
I believe that even as your fathers came to this land to produce riches, you were born here to produce riches by intelligence, by labor.
I believe that it is in you to be good citizens.
And what is it to be a good citizen?
It is to acknowledge the other person's rights before asserting your own, but always to be conscious of your own.
It is to be free in word and deed, but it is also to know that your freedom is subject to the other person's freedom.
It is to create the useful and the beautiful with your own hands, and to admire what others have created in love and with faith.
It is to produce by labor and only by labor, and to spend less than you have produced that your children may not be dependent upon the state for support when you are no more.
It is to stand before the towers of New York and Washington, Chicago and San Francisco saying in your heart, "I am the descendant of a people that builded Damascus and Byblos, and Tyre and Sidon and Antioch, and now I am here to build with you, and with a will."
You should be proud of being an American, but you should also be proud that your fathers and mothers came from a land upon which God laid His gracious hand and raised His messengers.
Young Americans of Syrian origin, I believe in you.
